Poem: NYCTOPHOBIA (Part Two of The Series)

The fire is too hot for me to handle
It flickers and dances in the night breeze
The gates are chained,
An iron authority against my will
And there is,
Lurking and slinking through the shadows,
A creature waiting to snuff out the light,
Surround me with fear
And never let me out of its fold.

@julielolu called out to poets on IG to start a series; a poem a day or as we please. I don’t know what made me title my series “Nyctophobia” which means the fear of the dark.. Anyways, this is the third poem I have written so far in the series. Any poet that is interested in starting a series of their own should follow @julielolu on IG and tag her in their posts, she promised to write back.

If this is your first time visiting this blog, please come back. And tell a friend to tell a friend to visit. Also, don’t forget to follow, like and comment. Thanks ❤.
