Maya Angelou said, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” So I have decided that for the next eleven days I’ll help people get their stories heard- One today, two tomorrow, three in two days e.t.c. I’d really love to feature work from other poets and probably some collabos with them. Interested people should indicate in the comments section or send their poems to firstname.lastname@example.org with their blog url and site title.
Drunken on vicious grief,
I stalk shadows in the streets
Desperate to relive the moments before dark
When the stars shone above squandered fields.
Traveling through the smog, my eyes begin to see
Fiends of the hummock and serpents of the lair.
My hands swing upwards, trying to reach their height
But the gesture is as flimsy as a kite.
