This post was inspired by a question asked by someone I consider a friend (when she was hurting deeply) and the comment I made.
To all the girls that are hurting,
Let me be your mirror and help you see a little bit clearer the light that shines within.- Alessia Cara.
When you feel like a storm cloud is upon your happiness, embrace the dark gray. Yesterday is dead and gone; it has to be a heavy load carrying your tears around but don’t worry, I’m here for you. When you feel like you’re about to burst from holding on for too long, look out for me. If you’re wondering if a moment of peace in a hundred days of chaos is worth it – if a breath of happiness in a thousand heartbeat of sadness is worth it – trust me, it is. Because those moments are the ones that help us hold on to our sanity.
For someone that sits in her room all day weeping and thinking, the moments when you come out and breathe fresh air are the ones that you’ll hold most precious. For a loner, the few times that you have people around and you feel truly loved and genuinely cared about, are the ones that you’ll never forget. For a depressed person, one or two people making you laugh will help you take your mind off suicide. So yes, it is worth it.
It might not be enough to drag you out of the darkness but it’ll shine a little light into it. It might not be enough to get rid of your blindness but it’ll give you a sneak peek of the beauty that is life.
Even as you fight the urge to cry yourself to sleep, don’t forget who you are and what you are here for. Embrace the black and white and the occasional grays. Take your time to breathe and dream. Learn to walk, elongate every step you take, make them last and count. Rest assured, darling; everyone is singing your chorus in the song of life.
I know that this is not the poem I promised to post but I felt compelled to do this because I know that a lot of girls and boys alike are hurting out there with nobody to talk to. I just want you all to know that I’m one of you and I am here for you anytime you want to talk. You can send me a DM on Instagram. I’m a good listener, a very comfortable shoulder to cry and offload your burdens on; and I don’t judge.
If this is your first time visiting this blog, please come back. And tell a friend to tell a friend to visit. Also, don’t forget to follow, like and comment. Thanks ❤.
